INSPIRATIONS... for the BATHROOM Layers of light are crucial to how well your bathroom functions. Blending pendants and wall sconces (or vanity linear lighting) will not only provide your bathroom some style, but also give you functional light. Sconces are the ideal way to achieve the even, shadow-free light that’s desirable near the vanity. Depending on the fixture type, you can mount lights on the wall flanking the mirror, or even on the mirror. Lighting can be modern or traditional. For lighting in stock in New Zealand click here. VANITY LIGHTING OR OVER THE MIRROR LIGHTING
When installing bathroom lighting fixtures on either side of the mirror is not optimal due to size and installation constraints, mount a fixture directly above the vanity for horizontal illumination. Ideally fixtures will run the width of the mirror and should be installed approximately 2 meters above the floor. Another helpful tip: a light, bright vanity top will bounce light upward and further reduce shadows.
